Flock Health

Flock health has been our number one priority. We were pioneers in the fight against Maedi-visna/Ovine Progressive Pneumonia (OPP) and have had an OPP free flock since the early 1980’s. Additionally; we participate in the Canadian ‘Genovis’ program which provides potential buyers with valuable performance data. All our sheep are genotyped. Since 2007 we have continued to be enrolled in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Scrapie Program. As a result we are the only Dorset Flock in North America that meets the new health standards required to export our breeding animals to South America.

This will give our American buyers great assurance that our breeding stock are overqualified to meet USDA import health standards.
